This is a bleakly hilarious tale of absolute unrepentance. In 1991, talented figure skater Tonya Harding (Margot Robbie) becomes the first American woman to complete a triple axel during a competition.

In 1994, her world comes crashing down when her ex-husband (Sebastian Stan) conspires to injure Nancy Kerrigan (Caitlin Carver), a fellow Olympic hopeful, in a poorly conceived attack that forces the young woman to withdraw from the national championship.

Harding's life and legacy instantly become tarnished as she's forever associated with one of the most infamous scandals in sports history.

Robbie gives a fantastically uninhibited performance as Tonya, fighting her way to the top from humble beginnings, with her frizzy hair and angry demeanour. This was the film that made Australia stop thinking of Robbie as Donna Freeman from Neighbours. It also won Robbie her first Oscar nomination after attention-grabbing parts in The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), The Big Short (2015) and Suicide Squad (2016).

‘[Margot] Robbie delivers a performance that is breathtaking to behold, almost to the point of exhaustion’ – Toronto Star

‘It’s a movie about class, and it’s a movie about the nature of truth. And somehow it’s also a supremely entertaining sports movie’ - Vox
