2019 | DCP | USA | D: Ari Aster| English, Swedish
Closed Captions and Audio Description available
When emotionally fragile Dani (Florence Pugh) follows her boyfriend (Jack Reynor) from the US to Sweden for a midsummer folk festival, she discovers that the ancient rituals are far darker than they initially appear.
Director Ari Aster’s sinister folk horror delivers a creepily insightful examination of relationship co-dependency and cultural disorientation, inspired by The Wicker Man.
‘The spell that it casts is bright, dreamy and absorbing, but it is also in no particular hurry to come into focus, which makes its aftereffects all the harder to shake.’ – Los Angeles Times
The NFSA offers closed captioning and audio description services through Dolby Accessibility Solution receivers. A total of 15 receivers are available for selected screenings.
