Cebe is a rebellious teenager (Linda Manz) whose father (Dennis Hopper) is in prison and whose mother (Sharon Farrell) is a junkie. She struggles to conform and finds solace in her love of Elvis and punk rock.

When Elvis dies, a disillusioned Cebe runs away from her dilapidated house in suburban Vancouver to the big city. There she has a series of encounters and a brush with the law.

Dennis Hopper took over directing the film, rewriting the script to make it more personal and finding moments of exhilaration amidst the desperation of Cebe’s situation.

‘This film is an impressive demonstration of mastery of mood and tone that affects and engages the viewer at an emotional level so deep and instinctive that it seems both primal and profound’ - The Boston Globe

Screening of a brand new 4K restoration followed by a live Q&A (via zoom in Arc) with producers John Alan Simon & Elizabeth Karr.

LINDA MANZ: ‘A TOUGH LITTLE REBEL’
We pay tribute to Linda Manz (1961-2020), the American actress and self-described ‘tough little rebel’ who starred in Days of Heaven (1978) and Out of the Blue (1980).

She only made a handful of movies, but she mesmerised audiences with her starring roles for directors like Terrence Malick and Dennis Hopper.
