Rejoice Gospel Choir is a community of diverse singers from all ages, backgrounds and cultures who love to sing. They take part in the rich tradition of gospel choir music and bring it to the community – from packed auditoriums across Sydney’s Inner and South- West to sharing the stage with Casey Donovan and Paulini at Carols in the Domain.
Rejoice is made up of some professional musos, and some just giving it a go – hairdressers and teachers and nurses – creating a place where anyone can sing gospel music, regardless of musical theory knowledge, background, age, faith practice, sexuality or anything else. Experience the explosive joy of singing gospel music as Rejoice celebrate faith in uncertainty and hope in pain.
‘The group’s first public performance… had a sold-out audience that ended the evening on their feet’ – The Sydney Morning Herald
Celebrate the joy and explosive power of gospel music with a live performance by Rejoice Gospel Choir, followed by a double feature screening of Sister Act (Emile Ardolino, 1992) and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (Bill Duke, 1994). Learn more
