Two out-of-work actors - the anxious, luckless Marwood, or “I” (Paul McGann), and his acerbic, alcoholic friend, Withnail (Richard E. Grant) - spend their days drifting between their squalid flat, the unemployment office and the pub. After a several-day-long bender, they decide to rejuvenate by taking a holiday at the country house of Withnail's flamboyantly gay uncle, Monty (Richard Griffiths), where they encounter the unpleasant side of the English countryside. And then Monty arrives unexpectedly…

This hilarious black comedy has long been a beloved cult classic. With endless quotable lines of bizarre, scathing and wickedly funny dialogue it won’t matter if you have had the shattering experience of one morning awaking and, quite reasonably, saying to yourself “I will never play the Dane”. Arc Out Loud is your time to shine.

The screening kicks off at 8pm but if you find yourself demanding “We want the finest wines available to humanity! We want them here and we want them now!” or need to eat “something’s flesh” beforehand, don’t forget to drop into our onsite café and bar The Curators and they’ll make sure you don’t wake to find yourself saying “I feel like a pig sh*t in my head”. Personally, “as a youth, I wept in butcher shops”…

A biting script from writer-director Bruce Robinson and performances from Richard E Grant and Paul McGann as two “resting” actors, Withnail and 'I', that neither has surpassed.’ – Time Out

A brilliantly funny, enduring classic with an unforgettable performance from Richard E Grant.’ - NME
