CLIPPED Music Video Premieres brings unreleased music videos to the big screen in an exclusive showcase celebrating Australia’s most exciting artists and filmmakers. Exclusive discussions with the creators give audiences insight into the creative process behind each work.
Featured videos include the ACT premiere of the documentary 'Baker Boy – The Making of DJANDJAY,’ followed by an insightful Q&A with Danzal Baker (Baker Boy). This documentary traces the 2-year creative journey behind DJANDJAY and reveals Baker Boy’s artistic growth and the collaborative team behind him. It traces the process from early writing sessions in Los Angeles to multiple music video shoots and a striking visual identity.
Music videos premiering in the lineup include: Kim Yang - 'Forever This Way' (Dir. Sean O’Gorman), smartcasual - ‘Give' (Dir. Josh Fogarty), ND’A - ‘Fugazi' (Dir. Nicolai Lafayette), Lily B - 'Soul Song' (Dir. James Hiscutt), and a surprise music video from Sesame Girl (Dir. Josh Fogarty & Heather Duncan), and Moss Girl - Psycho (Dir. Monique Lewis).
Finally on the lineup is 'VOICES OF RESISTANCE', an incredible collaboration from Nooky, Dallas Woods, Fred Leone, Soiju Gang and RIAH. This music video is a collaboration between young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) workers from QLD, NSW, WA, and the ACT on Gadigal/Bidjigal land for the Warraay Puthu (Bad Smoke in Ngiyampaa language) campaign. The collaboration is supported by the Yardhura Walani Tobacco Free program at ANU and Grand Trine Creative.

Proud Yolŋgu man, renowned artist, and 2019 Young Australian of the Year, Danzal Baker OAM, also known as Baker Boy, originates from Milingimbi and Maningrida in North-East Arnhem Land.
Baker Boy has become a pop-culture sensation, earning acclaim such as the National Indigenous Music Awards' Artist of the Year in 2019, 2020, and 2022, and accumulating over 90 million global streams. In 2021, he was honoured with the Order of Australia (OAM) medal.
Following a memorable performance at the 2025 AFL Grand Final in Melbourne before an audience of 100,000, the six-time ARIA Award winner released his long-awaited new album DJANDJAY (pron. Jan-jay) in October 2025. Debuting top 10 on the ARIA Australian Album Chart, the 14-track album includes singles ‘THICK SKIN' featuring Thelma Plum, Emma Donovan, Kee'ahn & Jada Weazel, ‘PEACEKEEPER’, ‘FREAK OUT' featuring Briggs and Haiku Hands, ‘LIGHTNING’ featuing REDD, and ‘RUNNING LOW' featuring Pardyalone.

Samuel Bright is a director, producer & event curator from Sydney, with a background creating music videos, live concerts, documentaries, and short-form work.
Samuel’s passion for Music Videos as a recognised art-form, and the lack of artistic opportunities in Australia, led him to develop CLIPPED Music Video Festival as part of Vivid Sydney in 2016. It's the only event of this kind in Australia, featuring a music video exhibition, awards, screenings, premieres and discussion panels. Notable speakers to-date have included the likes of Sarah Blasko, Megan Washington, Shane Drake (USA), Sing J Lee (USA), Sylvia Zakhary (USA), Nash Edgerton, David Wilson (UK), Jesse Kanda (UK), Nigel Dick (USA) & Warren Fu (USA).
CLIPPED Music Video Festival fosters community and provides a platform for artists, filmmakers and musicians, while incentivising the creative process with prizes and by showcasing emerging talent.
