The midnight tradition continues with the NFSA’s 50th anniversary celebration of the ultimate cult classic and longest running theatrical release of all time. Put on your best costume and join host Venus Mantrap for a cult experience guaranteed to get the Charles Atlas seal of approval.

‘In 1975, a spark from Australia’s creative underground ignited a wildfire of rebellion, expression and belonging. Fifty years on, The Rocky Horror Picture Show still pulses with the same energy, testament to both the wild, loud powerhouses behind its genius, and the rituals that have become folded into the film’s very being.’ - Laura Barling, NFSA

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this iconic film, join the NFSA for a classic midnight screening with the trimmings, including dress-ups, props, and callbacks. Can’t you just see it? Don’t dream it, be it.

About the film:
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a cult classic musical comedy horror film that follows a young couple, Brad and Janet, who encounter a bizarre and transgressive world after their car breaks down near a mysterious castle.

“The Rocky Horror Picture Show is not so much a movie as more of a long-running social phenomenon” – Roger Ebert

Special event includes drink on arrival and complimentary prop bag. Wear your best Rocky Horror costume, and host Venus Mantrap will be there to guide you through the cult experience.
