Abandoned in the outback, a 14-year-old girl and her 6-year-old brother wander into the desert in an attempt to survive. They seem doomed until they are rescued by a young Aboriginal man (David Gulpilil).
Nicolas Roeg’s 1971 classic was one of the first feature films to explore the cinematic potential of the outback, and it’s often named one of the earliest works of Australian new-wave cinema.
“The unforgettable vividness with which Roeg captures the Australian outback arises from the perspective of a foreigner trying to understand it...” – The Guardian
