The Australian Institute of Architects’ ACT Chapter has proudly partnered with the National Film and Sound Archive to present the 2025 Contemporary Australian Architects Speaker Series. Now in its 37th year, this annual lecture series discusses innovative ideas around design, art, and architecture.
Week 1: Josh FitzGerald & Chris Haddad (Archier)
Josh FitzGerald and Chris Haddad are founding directors of Archier, a Melbourne based studio committed to treating architecture as a multisensory, system driven process. Launched in 2012, the practice integrates analytical rigour with hands on, tactile exploration - bridging digital workflows with workshop prototyping to ground ideas in physical form. Their methodology emphasizes the experience of architecture, from conceptual resolution through to builder aligned detailing, where each team member plays a distinct role in the production pipeline. Archier creates across scales and disciplines - architecture, furniture, lighting - always with a sensitivity to systems, making their work both conceptually robust and materially grounded.
Join us from 5pm in our beautiful heritage courtyard to connect with fellow attendees or simply unwind. Enjoy drinks and nibbles available for purchase from our on-site deli and bar, Dom's, open until 8pm.
