The Australian Institute of Architects’ ACT Chapter has proudly partnered with the National Film and Sound Archive to present the 2025 Contemporary Australian Architects Speaker Series. Now in its 37th year, this annual lecture series discusses innovative ideas around design, art, and architecture.

Week 4: Shaun Lockyer (Shaun Lockyer Architects)
Guided by a belief in architecture as both emotional and philosophical exploration, Shaun Lockyer’s practice excels in creating residential spaces that feel timeless, grounded, and deeply humane. Rooted in memory, material, and place, his work elevates everyday living by privileging clarity, restraint, and sensory richness over fleeting trends. Since founding his Brisbane based studio in 2009, Lockyer has developed a highly collaborative approach with clients, using their aspirations to inform thoughtful, enduring design responses that resonate with landscape and climate. His practice seeks to fuse craft and contemplation, where homes evolve with lived experience, embodying elegance that feels both intimate and elemental.

Join us from 5pm in our beautiful heritage courtyard to connect with fellow attendees or simply unwind. Enjoy drinks and nibbles available for purchase from our on-site deli and bar, Dom's, open until 8pm.
